Meriden Industrial Laundry, Inc. was founded in 1957, by Max “Muddy” Grossman, to process industrial fibers and waste for the recycling industry. Magnakleen was one of the first companies in the United States to provide entrance mats and a dust mop service, then and now known as “dust control”. The company became an innovator and leader in this new field and continues in this capacity with a totally dedicated modern laundry facility and warehouse in Meriden, Connecticut. From this central location, delivery vans leave daily to service the entire Connecticut area and parts of Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our customers represent a “who’s who” of business and industry, with many having been with us for over 30 years.

While this type of mat provided excellent dirt retention, it did have its shortcomings. The colors were limited and bland and there were no safety borders on the edges. By Mid 1980’s, the company had moved into a new facility enabling it to provide its growing customer base with the best quality and service in the industry.

This time period also saw the introduction of the entrance mat as we know it today. It consists of twist/nylon fiber bonded to nitrile rubber. These mats are heavy duty, non-skid, and contain non-fade colors. Magnakleen supplies these mats in 6 standard colors and 6 standard sizes up to 5’x10’. A large inventory is maintained at all times to accommodate our customers needs.
By 1990, the industry introduced many new products. Among them are outdoor rubber scrape mats, anti-fatigue mats and rubber kitchen mats. Magnakleen consistently stayed on the cutting edge of these innovations, providing all of the before mentioned products and more, including:
